Like Nothing on Earth.
Coveted as the country’s largest ski resort with 5,289 acres of skiable terrain and seven legendary Back Bowls, Vail is an extraordinary winter destination. On the heels of opening the state-of-the art Gondola One last season, the on-mountain investment continues in Vail with two new lifts this season. A high-speed six-passenger chairlift has replaced the Mountaintop Express Lift (#4) in Mid-Vail, resulting in a capacity of 3,600 people per hour, or the equivalent capacity of Gondola One. Additionally, the fixed-grip double Gopher Hill Lift (#12) in Golden Peak has been replaced by a triple lift, increasing capacity by 50 percent.
